“Be Glad In The Lord, And Rejoice”
Reference: Psalms Chapter 32
The believer cannot be glad in the Lord until they know where they stand.
There are two kinds of believers. There is the Fundamentalist, and then there is the Pentecostal.
The Fundamentalist knows where they stand but they have not faith in the work of the Holy Spirit today. The Pentecostal has faith in the work of the Holy Spirit but knows not where they stand.
The standing of the believer.
The believer was saved even before the foundation of the world. By the foreknowledge of God, He knew the destination of the believer even before we believed. Hence no man or woman comes to Him except first drawn by the Father.
John 6:44 “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
The believer did not come to Christ on their own accord. It is the Holy Spirit that drew whom God had called even from before the foundation of the world, and predestinated them for Heaven even from before the foundation of the world.
Ephesians 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: [4] According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: [5] Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.”
The believer was chosen before the foundation of the world, and predestinated to the presence of the Father before the foundation of the world. This is the position of unspeakable joy, and takes away every doubt and fear.
Ephesians 1:6 “To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”
The believer who does not know their position in Christ will go up and down with some joyful days, fearful outcomes, and sad days. There will have some sunny and gloomy days in the life of such believer.
The believer who knows their position has no gloomy days, no fearful days, for they know where they are coming from, and their ultimate destination.
The work of the Holy Spirit today.
The believer who rejects the Baptism with the Holy Spirit will struggle to live for God, for they reject the Power and Seal of the Promise of God.
Ephesians 1:11-14 “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: [12] That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. [13] In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, [14] Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
The Holy Spirt today is the believer’s faith.
The early church was sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise on the Day of Pentecost.
Acts 1:4-5,8 “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. [5] For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. [8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
The believer who rejects the Promised HolySpirit has no faith (power) in preaching and witnessing. No power (faith) to present the Divine work and manifestations of the Holy Spirit like they did in the early church.
The believer who rejects the Holy Spirit Baptism lives in unbelief.
The true believer knows where they stand, and believes in the manifestations of the Holy Spirit today. They know they are sons of God today.
1 John 3:2 “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”
We ate sons of God today. Not in the future but today.
We are healed by His stripes not in the future but today.
We have passed from death unto life not in the future but today.
Everything we need is already in us. You take an orange and everything the orange needs to be a tree is ALREADY inside the seed. The orange seed just needs to drink to become the tree ALREADY in the seed.
John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
The Vine does not bear the fruit. It’s the branches that bear the fruit.
We abide by faith placed exclusively in his finished work where He was slain ALREADY before the foundation of the world.
This is the Bread of life (the Vine) that bears His fruit through us (the branches).
John 6:53-58 “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. [54] Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. [55] For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. [56] He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. [57] As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. [58] This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.”
We abide by eating spiritually(faith in) the Bread of life (the Vine).
The Vine will bear His fruit of faith and joy through us.
Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.”
It becomes a continuous joy,not of our making, but the Vine bearing in the branches.
David writes about the joy of the righteous.
Let’s read:
Psalm 32:1-2 “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. [2] Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.”
The Blessed man knows where they stand. That their sins have been washed away by the blood that was shed even before the foundation of the world.
The Blessed man knows they were not saved five or fifty years ago but about two thousand years ago, when Jesus Christ hanged on the Cross, but was revealed to them when they accepted their pardon.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 32:3-7 “When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. [4] For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. [5] I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. [6] For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. [7] Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.”
The Blessed man or woman is shut in with God, not in the outer court or Holy Place, but in the Holy of Holies.
This is where the believer is shut out from all the noise of the world and shut in alone with God. This is where the believer just like Aarons Rod blossoms immediately.
We conclude our reading:
Psalm 32:8-11 “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. [9] Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. [10] Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. [11] Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.”
In the Hiding Place (Holy of Holies) Joy becomes a constant fruit. There are no sad or gloomy days.
Let the Word of God draw us to be indwelled and led by the Holy Spirit with our position in Christ. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. The fruit of the Spirit through the branches, in Christ!
